Have had the same issue. I have also noticed all
sounds/notifications/alarms/etc have a tinny sound effect on the speaker. Have
noticed this through R9.1 through 14 (Will be updating to R21 tonight, and will
test again.)

I'm running r23, hoping that the bad audio would be fixed but it still appears
to be distorted. I hope that the next release would fix it.

In response to Dex, is it fixed through the phone's speaker? That's where the
issue has risen for me. I'm doing a clean flash of R23 as we speak either way,
I'm just interested.

R23 has mutch better sound than R22 but it is still a bit distortion to work
with. In normal earphones it sounds ok but when i connect the phone to my car
to listen to spotify the distortion is back. connectto car using 3.5mm jack ->
RCA
Keep up the good work ! This ROM kicks ass !!

I've dirty flashed R24 and the audio quality appears to have improved, no more
of the distorted bass, but the quality is still some ways from being good. I've
compared the quality of the same song with the same pair of headphones on both
my computer and my DHD without any EQ.

I somehow fixed the problem,
1. Flashed audio fix from codefireX thread
https://www.dropbox.com/s/oa1trskrz3556w8/audio_fix_flashable.zip
2. Installed Beats Installer
3. Flashed AwesomeBeats V3.

Warning - Dont try acid sound engine.

I did a clean flash of 26.2 and had the audio problem and recently dirty
flashed 27, but the audio problem persists. What is the fix?

Still persistant in R28. Problem has actually worsened. EXTREMELY tinny and
quiet audio, now on both speakers (notification sounds, google voice talk-back,
music through speaker, etc...) and during voice calls.
Any word of where this problem is coming from? Seems to pop up intermittently
from release to release.
