Copied boot.img from R2 to R3 and then flashed R3. Auto-rotation started
working in R3.
So This might be related to Kernel (I am no guru on this, but AFAIK boot.img
contains kernel).

After reading that, on a hunch, I downloaded a couple of old kernels: kb27 and
kb28. Auto rotation works on JellyTime 7.2 using kb28. I'm sure this older
kernel will cause other glitches, but the change occurred after that kernel. I
hope this helps.

I forgot to mention that it does not work in kb27.

By returning to stock, re-rooting, and then flashing JellyTime, auto rotation
now works. Although I don't consider this to be a true fix, I no longer have
the issue. The problem is gone, so it is your decision on whether or not to
leave this open.

Please I have this same issue on my DHD. i have flashed different custom roms
but still autorotate and other sensors are not working. I have it enabled in
settings. The stock 2.3.3 works great with it. I have created a backup of the
2.3.3 and i restored and it worked.
