ideas: load time, start screen, week view #19

Thanks for this! I love and use it daily even as-is. I have no idea how you
made this, so these ideas might not make any sense. Just some thoughts.

1. It takes a good 7 - 10 secs to open the app. I assume this is because it
has to download the latest info? Is there a way to load only the 'today'
info maybe? That's what i'd be checking the most. Then the other info can
continue to load once the app is open, or only once I ask for it. I'd even
rather have load faster in the beginning and then only load when I ask for
something (ties in to #2. I think being able to add new tasks fast is most
important)

2. Once you load the app, it'd be nice if the home screen had a one-line
task input textbox, with the 'today', 'tomorrow', ect, buttons below it.
Just a simple one-liner, with no tag or other options. I like to dump ideas
into RTM (I currently use e-mail) and then tag and date them later in
batches, so this would be killer.

3. For me at least, it would be better if the 'This Week' button took you
to a screen that showed you all the weeks tasks directly (arranged by date)
instead of more buttons for each individual day.

Again, just a few ideas I had while using it. I really appreciate you
making this.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

The load time will definitely improve.  The current version downloads all of 
your
uncompleted tasks when initially opened.  Future releases will have caching 
ability
which will greatly improve load time.  When caching is implemented it will only
download the task updates since the last update.  I was thinking of making it 
update
when opened, via a manual request, and possibly every X minutes.

I am thinking about having a hot key or something similar to quickly input 
tasks. 
i.e. Pressing T would bring up a dialog for you to enter the task and 
associated due
date like "pick up the milk tomorrow" which would add the task "pick up the 
milk" and
mark it due tomorrow.

The current implementation of this week is ala the iPhone interface as well as 
the
mobile RTM site.  I am thinking about making this an option to either view all 
tasks
due this week or the current screen where you can select each day.

Thank you for your suggestions.  I have been rather busy with school projects 
lately
and I am now, unfortunately, trying to get over the flu or cold or whatever I 
have. 
Hopefully I can get back to development soon.
