I would suggest instead of this that the BBRTM colors be made static no matter
what
theme is being used (similar to the BB Facebook app) at least as a long term
goal.
Something similar to the screen mockup that I did a while back that uses the
same
colors the RTM website uses. I know that you were looking into doing that
originally
but having problems with it, but hopefully you can revisit it at some point
when you
have some of the basic stuff hammered out.
The issue with letting the theme control the colors is that with the tons of
custom
themes out there now, you're always going to have someone who has a problem with
colors conflicting with their theme. For example I think you're planning on
making
overdue tasks red, which will conflict with the theme I use that has a red
highlight
bar. The best temporary fix is to make all fonts change to white when
highlighted
since most highlight bars in theme I've seen are dark enough for that to work,
but
I'm sure there are some others out there that have a light enough highlight bar
to
make white fonts difficult to see.

I agree with Bonebox, colors should not vary by theme, its RTM after all and
this
applcation is not a barbie doll, "ooh let change its cloth today", BBRTM should
be as
similar as the desktop RTM. I kind off a minimalist or purist
Bonebox, email me an image of the mockup I'd love to see it. thanks, how are the
icons coming along.

I haven't really had a chance to work on the additional icons much yet. I've
been
really sick since I got back from vacation and just haven't had the drive to
start
working on them. I'm hoping I can get back to them this week sometime once I'm
feeling better.
