Can the cast be detected at least?
And can you cast using an app on your phone, for example YouTube?
@mully4235
Sorry for the delay. Haven't been feeling well. It shows the google home, show I can cast to it. I can cast other stuff through google home like iheart and such using my phone. It did cast the very first time I installed it, but since then it won't anymore.
Can you send me what you are trying to play? It might help me debug. And are you using the latest version?
Just a bunch of music mp3's that I have on my computer. Some from old cd's, some downloaded from online. I uninstalled and reinstalled making sure I had the latest. When I first try playing the ding/chime sound goes through the google speaker, but then nothing. It shows it is playing, but other than that initial sound, you can't hear anything. Weird because it worked great up until a few weeks ago.
Are the files in a specific folder that has non-English symbols? What happens if you play the file from the downloads folder?
Can you also send me you log file? You have to right click the music caster shortcut and click "open file location" multiple times.
I have it all in various folders inside a folder called Music Caster on my desktop. They're folders with random names, but all english. I tried a new folder on my desktop just labeled m and that won't play either.
Can you go to settings and scan the qr code with your phone? Let me know if you can access the website that launches on your phone. Then comment the ip address that is inaccessible.
whats the log file callled? Is it changelog.txt?
The log file is just called music_caster.log but I'd also like to know if scanning the qr code results in a web Gui on your phone.
When I scan the code this pops up: http://192.168.0.135:2001 Is that the correct one you want?
It looks good but if you open that in your browser do you see anything?
Says it took too long to repond.
Do I just copy / paste the log file here?
I think on this pc it might have been my firewall messing with it. I changed something and it suddenly started playing. Don't know why it still won't play on the old pc though. But I'm fine with that.
It could be firewall or it could be ipv4 address problems. If you can figure out if the local ipv4 matches the ipv4 music Caster figures out, then I can fix the problem. Are you using portable or setup? I recommend using the setup.
For a few weeks now music caster will not cast to my google home. Thought it was just my old computer acting up but I bought a new one and music caster still won't cast anymore.
