AOE attacks are unbalanced for experience gain in survival/campaign modes #101

How to deal with this? Give fewer experience for AoE kills? Limit the total experience from any one attack spell?

I don't like the idea of having some XP be wasted, though. Hmm...

There's already precedent for wasted experience (units with experience dying, that is). And that happens a lot more for non-wizard units, so there's actually currently a bias towards wizard experience NOT being wasted. This rule change could "fix" that bias. :-P

Possible rules:

It seems desirable NOT to make a distinction between AOE attacks and other ways of killing multiple units per turn (like energy blast and haste).

If the bonus for extra kills is smaller than the experience transferred by summons, then it is arguably an unfair advantage to summoners?

I suppose these rules would end up applying to other add-ons that give multiple attacks per turn. Maybe the rule should be a setting? (So that "not even EoHS" settings would still be accurate.)

Should the rules affect even retaliation attacks? If they don't, this incentivizes exploiting the AI to get themselves killed (through soul bind berserk, for instance) even more than usual.

I have handled this issue by making wizards share in ALL experience and have a much higher experience requirement.
