this is a very tricky bug probably introduced with voice chat. It happens in my system when a combination of settings in the local channel are used:
the problem: reaninjam creates a fast looping loud noise in one channel heard in reaninjam for about 1 second , but it is not heard locally in Jamtaba.
reproducing the bug. This was my specific setup, it may vary, but this is how I reproduced it:
1.- Jamtaba has two channels enabled:
channel 1 has stereo input in normal ninjam mode
channel 2 has mono input with voice chat enabled
2.- connect to a server. another reaninjam client should be connected too. the loud sound appears here.
3.- start fedding both inputs continuously in Jamtaba and listen in reaninjam.
4.- when you start hearing the audio in reaninjam, change input 1 from stereo to mono.
5.- loud sounds will appear on reaninjam, but not on jamtaba. I'm not if this is a Jamtaba bug or a compatibility issue.

Worth mentioning though in any case.
