We publish two pub-dates, one with an attribute of publication-format="electronic" and date-type="pub"; the second pub date has an attribute of pub-type="collection".
The former contains all the publication data (ie day, month and year), the second contains only the year.
<pub-date publication-format="electronic" date-type="pub"><day>28</day><month>02</month.<year>2014</year></pub-date><pub-date pub-type="collection"><year>2014</year></pub-date>
The second may become redundant in the future:
<pub-date pub-type="collection"><year>2014</year></pub-date>
Please note - we publish content in an author's accepted manuscript form (other acronyms: PaP/PoA/AoP). When this first version is published, that is the publication date, not the date when the final version you are working on is delivered for publication. If an article is not published as an author's accepted manuscript, production will inform you of the publication date.
