Figure supplements do not exist independent of a parent figure (ie there must be a Figure they are associated with).
Where they do exist, a tag is used to contain all the associated information of all the figures of the group, although each is contained within it's own fig tag. A figure supplement has an additional attribute, specific-use="child-fig"
Other than that, the tagging is the same as for a main figure (ie DOI tagging, label, caption etc).
