Coloured text is allowed within an section of an eLife article. It is generally used within figure legends to correspond with colouring in the figures. The tagging is set up to display in the eLife CSS html.
We allow 3 colours:
Red
Blue
Green
each has a corresponding author-callout-style:
Red 1
Blue 2
Green 3
These colours were chosen for readability. If an author has selected other colours our aim is to change them to one of these three and if they mention further colours to limit them or change the description. Production staff will advise you.
<p>Here is an example of making text display in different colours: <named-content content-type="author-callout-style1" >red</named-content>, <named-content content-type="author-callout-style2">blue</named-content>, <named-content content-type="author-callout-style3">green</named-content>, and <named-content content-type="author-callout-style4">yellow</named-content>.</p>
