Math is presented as either inline equations or display equations, using Math ML or Latex. It is only if the presentation cannot be done using either of these formats that a graphic is allowed.

All inline math must use inline formula, tagging, even if as simple as a=b+c. The equations are listed sequentially through an article, but disp and inline are different lists.
