Blank lines not preserved after saving #193

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Insert a blank line between small paragraphs (two or three words, for
instance)
2. Save the document
3. Open the document in another window/tab

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'd expect to see the blank line I inserted, but it's not there.

What version of the product are you using? On what browser?
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b3) Gecko/20100805 Firefox/4.0b3

Please provide any additional information below.
Blank lines are important for paragraph separation in LaTeX.

I'm working around this issue for now by sticking \par at the end of each
paragraph followed by a line with just % on it to separate out the paragraphs
in the source code.

I'm experiencing this problem as well. Every time I open up my LaTeX file, I
lose more and more indents I use to point out begin/end points of various
functions. After five or six saves, every single line I wrote is now flush
with the left margin, with no differentiation. Even the blank lines between
paragraphs I placed disappears.

I'm careful with my indenting, in order to make my files easy to read. Now the
spacing has turned into gobbledygook.

Anyone else having this problem?

I'm having this problem too. I can work around this by add more \\\\, but in a
code list included, I can't. Instead, I put some character(like |) in the blank
line to make it not empty.

This is annoying, can anyone fix this problem?

Same problem here. That said, I like the \par suggestion. I'll try that now.

I'm getting the opposite. Every time I reopen a document an extra blank line
has been added to any set of one or more blank lines. Perhaps it's as a result
of an attempt to fix this buy?

Fwiw, I'm getting the opposite too.
I have reported issue 300, which describes the opposite problem:
every empty line becomes two empty lines. Then 4, then 8, and so on.
