service requires authentication before saving

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Let the session time out (keep the document tab open over a weekend)
2. Edit document and try to save.
3. Get Error Box

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'd like to save, or to be prompted to log in again. Instead I get an error box 
with no obvious way of logging back in, especially not without risking losing 
my work by navigating away from the current page.

What version of the product are you using? On what browser?
The current version (?? "About" doesn't offer version numbers). Browser is 
Chrome: installation: chrome - 167, version: 16942999

Please provide any additional information below.
 - Thank you so much for developing this! I'd given up on google docs because of the mess it made of equations - this has convinced me back.

This needs to be fixed!  I often will have a document open for days and 
shouldn't be at risk of losing changes I've made just because I can't sign back 
in.  (Especially when all indications on the page are that I am still logged 
in.)

I will second what the poster of the original bug said - having a LaTeX editor 
in Google Docs has vastly improved the usability of docs and has allowed me to 
do a lot more work on my Cr48 than I expected to be able to do.  Thanks!!!
