1.3 beta seems laggy #141

What steps will reproduce the problem?

In 1.3 beta the whole game seems muh less responsive. I've even 
rebooted so I had 53Mb free and nothing else running and I still get long 
pauses

It's slow as hell, even in the sim :( Must have something todo with a last 
minute
static hearse change because it certainly ran well before.
