Freeze when using keyboard for first command.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start an iNethack sessions
2. Use the keyboard for the first command.
3. Freeze with the key highlighted/zoomed

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Execution of the command, usually (but no always) i for inventory.  Freezes
with the selected key zoomed/highlights

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.3-b4 on OS 3.1.2

Please provide any additional information below.
This is an intermittent problem and I can't consistently reproduce it.  It
only happens when you use the keyboard for your first command.

Is that a way to reproduce it?

1. start iNetHack
2. use keyboard and press 'i'

1. Start iNethack resuming a game in progress.
2. I've had freezes using i, Z, & D that I recall.

iPhone 1st generation.  It hasn't happened since I posted the defect.
