Unexpected naming call (TextInputView) hides messages #23

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. E.g., let a monster throw a potion at you that can be detected by the
message it gives
2. TextInputView pops up
3. You don't have a clue

What is the expected output?

TextInputView should display the messages
