Silent hill 2 EE on low end laptop #957

So I had a low end laptop and want to play Silent Hill 2. My Spec is AMD A8-7410 APU, AMD RADEON M330, 4GB RAM, WINDOWS 10. I can't run the game on 60fps but no problem, I usually play games within 30fps. So I play this game for 2 hours and my laptop temps get 81°C (I checked with core temps). And what i'm trying to ask is, is it normal to play this game on my low end laptop and get 81°C temps, I turn off the high text, simple shadow, simple fog.

The PC port was never well optimized, in the general sense (see here: https://github.com/elishacloud/Silent-Hill-2-Enhancements/issues/899#issuecomment-1906785076).

The way it was coded, the game demands more resources than what's necessary. Unfortunately, we can't really change this as this code handling is so intertwined with the entirety of the game.

It's likely normal for this to happen. My old Surface Pro 3 also ran hot when playing the game at larger resolutions or for extended periods of time.

Additionally, most laptops are naturally going to run hot when doing anything intensive because cooling is one of the sacrifices made for such a small form factor. As long as it's not thermal throttling (90°C appears to be the limit here) then there's probably nothing to worry about.
