That is a good idea Adrienne. I will keep it in mind for the next version. What would REALLY be nice is if FB wouldn't screw with their urls like that, but that's probably too much to ask....
Well, yes. That would be nice. :) But the local URLs / pages that aren't there problem would still exist.
True, true. And a whitelist of domains would be relatively easy to add, anyhow. I'll send you a beta version as soon as I have some free time to code it.

Feature Request
Probably just globally-to-a-site, in a Fieldtype Settings kind of screen. Facebook, for example, doesn't like your checking method, so it ALWAYS returns "invalid URL; should be http://facebook.com/browser", and it'd be nice to just exclude that. Plus, sometimes i'm pre-entering data for pages that aren't actually THERE yet, and it'd be nice to just say "don't check anything on this local domain".
