We have the same problem here, 18 commits because your fork is not up to date with the main repo.
You can do that from Github, go to your fork, click "Fetch upstream", then you can download your master branch and create a new branch from there.
yes, I did the same, these commits are here because initially, I made the changes for two issues on the master branch then I removed those and made them in separate branches. so it's a little messed up.
