Send a first mailing to The List with 3 pieces of information. First, state that you entered the Founder Institute and plan to become a Founder. Second, describe your 3 Projects and why they are a good fit for your personality. Third, solicit feedback from your friends and family on The List to see if the Projects are a good fit for your personality. A sample is here (http://fndri.com/15WZjd1). Provide a copy of your email. Write at least five pieces of feedback that you have received from The List. (1 Hour)

Hello! I have already reached out to some of you to seek approval for adding you to this mailing list, and the rest of you fall into the "friends and family" category, so I'm hoping you'll be willing to serve as a sounding board in the coming weeks. If you're unwilling or unable, please feel free to unsubscribe.

I am sending you this email as I start my entrepreneurial journey. I have joined the inaugural chapter of the Founder Institute (http://FI.co) in Greenville to help me develop a series of ideas into a meaningful and enduring technology company. I would like to update you on my progress each week over the next few months.

To get started, please provide me with some feedback on three ideas that I am working on:

IDEA 1: Tipp

A restaurant hiring app to help restaurants hire better employees and cut down on turnover. The app would have three parts: an online application portal and archive; a job board; and, the secret sauce, a rating or vetting system to help restaurant owners/manager identify employees who are not likely to stay. Frees up time that restaurant operators can spend improving customer experience. Monthly subscription service to be paid for by restaurants, extra fee per job ad.

This idea appeals to me, obviously, because it would help restaurant owners with their biggest pain point, and it is a good fit for me because it's an industry I'm familiar with and I speak the "language," which will be exceedingly helpful when it comes time to sell it. And because I want to help my husband with his largest professional frustration. What do you think?

IDEA 2: Keep in Touch

A closed-system (invitation only) social media platform where kids can keep in contact after camp. The target audience here are preteens and teens who are either too young for other social media services or who haven't yet won parental approval to be on them. The invite system would give parents some peace of mind. Kids meet friends at camp and have no real way to keep in touch. This app would also feature advertising and other revenue opportunities from the camps and makers of camp gear.

This idea appeals to me because I know the kids of this age group and their parents, and it is a good fit with my personality because it's social media, an area I have much experience as a journalist and marketer. What do you think?

IDEA 3: Ship It Good

An on-demand service that ships items about to be confiscated by the TSA. We've all been at the airport and have had to surrender the pocket knife we forgot we had on us, or the expensive hair product in a bottle larger than 3 oz. What if you could buzz someone with your phone to meet you there at security so you could have the item shipped home to your final destination?

This idea appeals to me because of it's a real problem everyone has had. What do you think?

At this time I'm exploring all three ideas, though it's probably clear where my heart is. I appreciate your insights, feedback and support through this process.

Thanks, Elizabeth
