Boost showing the boosted toots' text twice #1421

The text of boosted toots in my timeline shows up duplicated, as if the boosting person was quoting the original toot yet just copying the text. Images are not duplicated in this manner.

I am using the elk.zone hosted client, and my instance is running GoToSocial v0.6.0

I did some tests and it seems that older Mastodon versions are also affected by this.

Elk version: 0.6.2

Affected:

GoToSocial 0.6.0 / 0.7.0-rc2
Mastodon 3.2.1 (qoto.org fork)
Mastodon 3.3.3 (pawoo.net fork)

(Likely) not affected:

Mastodon 4.0.2 (tested on mas.to)

Update: Partially fixed in #1627.

Seems to be fixed in the newest build (at least when using GoToSocial 0.7.0-rc2 git-c223c75)

Thanks for contributors' effort fixing this! The bug is partially fixed as mentioned in an earlier reply.

Elk version: 0.7.4 and canary ff070ea

Mastodon 3.3.3 (pawoo.net fork) is still affected. For example, if a pawoo.net user's post is boosted by another pawoo.net user, then duplicated text will show up. However, if a non-pawoo.net user's post is boosted by a pawoo.net user, the boost is shown correctly.
