Hi,
I would like a new feature to add a hint for end-user when not all tootl-answers are presents
Context: following this discussion: Elk toot/pouet with multiple answers : I can see only my reply #2687
feature context
Given mastodon instance of ELK user (ex. octodon.social) is filtering some other mastodon instances (having internal black list of some servers)
Given a Toot with multiple answers and some of them coming from this black-listed servers
As ELK user, today elk-zone client show this toot with a "answer count" (ex. 3) greater than showed anwsers (ex. 1) - practical sample : toot octodon.social/@mh..
ELK client must add a hint message for end-users when some answers are not showed (all answers are visible here : +1 from wiki.. +1 from anlom..)
I would suggest something like this : "all answers are not reported here, this is maybe due to your mastodon instance internal rules, feel free to navigate onto the original toot to get more details" (like "open on original site" feature)
NB: In this example I would only share the main idea/meaning, and not a formal string value.
Technical way to trigger the hint
for each toot, it seems like there is 2 dedicated json response payload : one for the toot itself, one for the toot "context" (cf. examples provided in linked discussion)
we may probably count difference between "replies" count and "context : toot direct children" to trigger the hint
