Project abandoned? #191

What's the status for this project? I see that discussion on here https://make.wordpress.org/design/tag/front-end-editor/ is stale.

Will it ever be integrated into core or at least brought to a stable version?

It is quite stable. The reason it's not a stable version is that I'm not sure if we're in the right direction. I'm experimenting with alternatives right now.
