Check that package.json is readable. Make strings translatable. #248

Hi @iseulde is this project going to move forward again? since it's marked as abandoned here https://make.wordpress.org/core/features-as-plugins/ under Inactive Feature Plugins - These feature plugins are no longer being worked on.

Would be great if it revived since it's a great feature and you had done an awesome job already.

Let me know please and I'll open new separate PR for each issue. Will be closing this one now.

It doesn't say anywhere it's abandoned. It's just no longer a feature plugin (a plugin meant to be merged with core). That doesn't mean it can't continue to be a normal plugin. I admit I haven't been able to put much time in it lately, but I'd like to keep it working and make some enhancements if I have inspiration and time.
