Note that in this case the deprel associated with the preposition do needs to be case not mark:prt even though the following item is a verbal noun.

Note too that the noun that is dependent on the verbal noun correctly gets the deprel nmod rather than obj.

Basically, the verbal noun is not being analyzed as a verb here. How to tell this situation apart from the normal situation? Basically it comes down to the possible translation, I guess.

I think this is usually ambiguous, Elliott, unless in very clear substantive verb + do + vn. construction. Here, though, the eDIL does not list 'fo-ceird do' as an idiomatic use, so perhaps we can regard it as a non-finite subordinate? Anyway the tag on the second coordinate needs to be harmonised with the first one (now it is mark:prt)

Hey Fangzhe, thanks for the comment. Yes, it is often ambiguous - but I'm made it a rule that do will be mark:prt unless it's clear that cannot be true. Here, I am in favor of going for case because it is very clearly not a mark. --- The preposition in both conjuncts is actually tagged as case in the most recent version of the treebank. This comment links to an older commit and I should probably close the issue.

Okay! Apart from that, how are you yourself? Any progress with the project?
