This can fix issues with softwareupdated hanging on certain macOS versions. For more information see:

After some consideration, I've decided to close this PR. Although it may potentially solve issues like #61 and #64, I'm unsure what other side-effects it may introduce.

Nonetheless, other users of this role may be interested in this PR as inspiration for a potential workaround.
