feature request: remember volume level #55

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

Hi,
It would be nice if gnome-mplayer didn't start with volume at 100% every
time, but at the volume level it had when it was closed for the last time.
Key bindings for changing volume with the keyboard would be nice too.
Cheers.

Sorry, I have just found out that keys "0" and "9" change volume.

I'd also like to have that option (or maybe one to the a default volume level
in the
options).

gnome-mplayer 0.7.0 will only start with the volume at 100% if it cannot get the
volume settings from Alsa. However, with pulse audio it does get 100% but it is
also
capped by the master volume. You don't mention which version you are on, but you
might try 0.7.0 if you don't have it already

Sorry for the missing information: I'm on Ubuntu 8.04 with pulse audio active.
Master
audio level is correctly capped, but it would be nice to have a option to set a
default volume level to start with (like the --volume switch offers from the
command
line). I'm only missing an option for that switch in the settings dialog. :)
