Can't view laconi.ca timeline on people you follow from a different service #71

Also known as remote following, when I try to view the username of someone
that I have remote followed, I get a blank screen and an error message in
the error menu. This is probably because the algorithm for look ups is for
example http://[laconia server name]/username but that does not work in
this instance.

One way to do it is, if you are on identi.ca follow someone on another service
when
you are not logged into there service. For example, http://army.twit.tv/wesny
is my
Twit Army account and if you follow that. It will bring up remote follow if
you are
not logged into a Twit Army account. Then put in your other Laconi.ca account
(ident.ca/username is an example) in the profile window and click ok

Now if you'd just update your wesny account so I can see it in my timeline, I
can
troubleshoot :)

I'm not sure there's an answer for this. PockeTwit uses the twitter API when
connecting to laconica servers, which has no concept of "remote follow". The
data
structure being returned with user information doesn't really have a place to
specify
a remote server-- see http://identi.ca/api/statuses/friends_timeline.xml

I've posted a ticket with laconica, but I don't know how a suitable resolution
can be
reached. See http://laconi.ca/trac/ticket/775
