Improve implementation

This project was a bit exploratory, so there is a little bit of spaghetti to eat through.

• Reduce size of render function
• Optimize anything that jumps out as being inefficient
• Add more examples to storybook
• Ensure all necessary member variables are private
• Clean up and test throttling implementation
• Remove pesky console.logs
