whatsapp_error

I enabled the plugin, restarted firefox, went to web.whatsapp.com and got the error message:

"Whatsapp web only works in google chrome" as seen in the image above.

System: Windows 7, Firefox 35.01.

The same thing was happening to me. Then I created a new profile to debug and it was gone. I had mine for at least 5 years, so it's hard to tell exactly what was causing it.

Not the best solution, but creating a new profile should work. Den 14 feb 2015 10:32 skrev "beatstick" notifications@github.com:

Ok. That seems like a lot of work losing all my bookmarks and stuff... Too bad. Maybe I give it a try some day... It seems to work fine on my netbook though (running winxp).

Ok, I created a second profile for firefox called whatsappweb and then a second shortcut for firefox, that loads the secondary profile in another window (firefox.exe -p whatsappweb -no-remote). So it's a dedicated profile for whatsappweb, nice.

Hi, do you have any other addons which may be causing conflicts? Your "use Chrome" message looks different for example, maybe some other addon is affecting it? Here is how it looks on my Firefox:

If you have some time, can you try and see if disabling all addons except for this one on your old profile makes it work?

Also, did you try clearing your browser cache, just in case?

Hi Elopez, I just tried your tips. Cleaned the cache, disabled all other add-ons but to no avail: I still get the old error screen.

Getting the same error screen here. It works only when I run the firefox with the add-on disabled, and enable it after going to web.whatsapp.com

I tried rubenbdpaz's instructions and they don't work for Nightly 39.0a1 (2015-02-24). The addon works with Firefox Developer Edition 37.0a2 (2015-02-14).
