The plugin is frozen on Quora. #77

After running all night, it is stuck on "Showing 8372 of 8373 answers." It's been stuck like that for at least an hour. It would be nice if there was a way to get the answers it has downloaded so far, even if it's crashed. Now I'll have to start it all over again. And I already did that once. Last time it crashed after three thousand or so answers.

Sorry about that. The reason the plugin freezes is most likely simply due to browser/memory limitations as the page gets too large to handle. This tends to be a problem for accounts with more than >5,000 answers or so.

It would seem logical to just download the answers page-by-page instead of loading them all on one page, but unfortunately, in that case Quora would very quickly block the user's IP from accessing Quora at all!

There are a few workarounds I still want to try, but for now I'd recommend holding off since it likely would just fail again. If you give me your Quora profile URL (something like https://www.quora.com/profile/Erik-Moeller-2/answers but with your username), I can use it to experiment and will let you know if I manage to get a full download.

I've just released a major update to the extension (0.4.0) that should be a lot more tolerant of errors on the Quora side, and also faster with huge answer sets. Chrome auto-updates extensions, but to be sure, you can uninstall and reinstall the extension from https://freeyourstuff.cc/ - you can find the version you're running by putting chrome://extensions in the address bar.

There may be new errors, too! :-) Please give it a spin and let me know if it works for you now.
