Great work, thanks!

Please change 'highcolor' directory to 'hicolor' according to /usr/share/icons/hicolor path. 64x64 icons are probably not needed, I only have calligra icons there. What about copyrights of chromium, xfce, ubuntu logos? Could you add some information about it to README if it's required.

Pardon my ignorance. You are absolutely right, i forgot to mention copyrights at all.

UBUNTU: https://ubuntu.com/legal/intellectual-property-policy

We recognise that most of the open source discussion and development areas are for non-commercial purposes and we therefore allow the use of Canonical IP in this context, as long as there is no commercial use and that the Canonical IP is used in accordance with this IPRights Policy.

The requirements are to not suggest endorsement by canonical and acceptance of the IPRights Policy afaiu.

The Ubuntu Logo page states that use of the unaltered CoF (Circle of Friends) without the copyright c or r, requires a separate copyright mention.

For the README.md/COPYRIGHT.md this would translate to something like:

Draft: "Ubuntu is a registered trademark of Canonical Ltd. The use of the "Circle of Friends" (CoF) part of the Ubuntu Logo owned by Canonical Ltd. does not suggest endorsement by Canonical Ltd. The CoF is used in provided starter icons as a clear visual hint to the users of sailfish-ubu-chroot that the projects participants hereby agree to follow and accept the Canonical IPRights Policy."

To play save we should still ask for permission at https://ubuntu.com/legal/terms-and-policies/contact-us once we agree on a properly worded .md file.

CHROMIUM Is published under the "Creative Commons attribution 2.5".

Draft: "The Chromium Logo was designed by the Chromium Development Documentation Project and released under Creative Commons attribution 2.5 according to Wikipedia. The Chromium logo used in sailfish-ubu-chroot as a starter icon is a remix according to CC BY 2.5 and styled to fit into Sailfish OS UI guidelines.

XFCE

The logo i used is not the official xfce logo obviously but the Xubuntu logo in some variation i can not easily track down the copyrights of. To better reflect the actual XFCE4 desktop used, it might be more consistent to use the correct logo despite it being ugly and not fitting sfos guidlines at all...

So, either

  1. i need help with attributing the remixed/alterd xubuntu blue mice logo in use now,
  2. or change to the original Xubuntu logo apparently owned by canonical.
  3. or change to correct XFCE logo with Lesser GPL.
