Text message always displays at least 1 unread

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. It's always there, no matter what.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect it to not be there when I have 0 unread text messages. Instead it 
displays 1 unread from a contact with 0 unread messages. If I tap it, it goes 
to the "new text message" screen.

What version of the product are you using?
1.1

Which device and Android version are you experiencing this issue on?
4.2.1 on a Sprint Galaxy Nexus

I have the same issue. No fix at all I have found.
