I've followed this up more and the voltage out of the APM is just under 4.9 so
I did some rewiring and fed the OSD board directly from the main BEC which puts
out 5.3V. The OSD still shuts down on arming the motors and the power supply
voltage is rock solid at 5.3 so I have no idea why this is happening. Is there
a parameter that would affect this?

I forgot to mention that I added a ferrite core and capacitor to the power line
supplying the APM and OSD board. I don't think noise is an issue... plus
nothing else seems to be overly effected by noise.

I'm reading more and this seems to be an ongoing issue. Does one of the more
recent pre-release versions fix this? Any help would be REALLY appreciated.
Thank you!

The most recent pre-releases (r726, r727) seem to fix the issue. Be sure to
download the font too. You'll find this thread interesting.
