If I understand this correctly, a good analogy would be something like a belt inventory a few VR games have? This can be done and is something I've been thinking about. I want to refrain from just straight bloating the origin list and instead making the exiting one configurable perhaps.
I have other things on my plate right now, so I'd rather put in the list of things I want to add eventually for now, however.
I'm not sure what this should be called, but I think it would be useful to have a position origin option where the overlay follows the yaw rotation of the head, but exists at a fixed pitch. Essentially, in addition to being able to walk around, you could rotate freely, and the overlay would follow you. But, you can choose to look at the overlay or not by tilting your head up or down. You could then play a game where you're moving around freely, but always have the overlay available by glancing down (or up). Does this make sense?
