This is at least the case for console mode. When closing the left-most tab using a mouse (and perhaps via keyboard), it will close emacs entirely. I'm using emacs server mode, so the process is still running. However, when you try to open another file the tabs are completely hidden (not rendered). I then have to force kill emacs and restart. This happens frequently. I'm using emacs 27.2
