Alignment doesn't work with star in template #809

Describe the bug My citar-templates has this for the main

"${author editor:36%sn}    ${date year issued:4}    ${title:*}"

There is no start in the suffix template, with this alignment doesn't work for the author field, and it seems like it is not allocated a fixed width. I have tried moving the star around and the issue persists, unless the star is in the last field of suffix (the default).

Expected behavior A single star field gets all the remaining width allocated.

Emacs version: Emacs 29
