Once could provide a file with a bunch of variables holding suggested conditions for loading packages. This would make it fairly effortless to use once without the need to figure out the best way to defer a package or resort to using a starter kit/distribution.

Not completely sure it's a great idea to have people blindly use x-package-condition in their config without looking at things. You couldn't just look at the variable and have any idea what the condition is unlike something like once-buffer. If this is added, maybe it should be in a separate repo or package.
