79 looked at the issue of migrating existing settings to the new locations, and was closed as not practical. Since I came here looking for information on how that happened, it would have been extremely useful to have the short form of that documented in the README.
A couple lines under a heading saying "isn't practical to do safely, best of luck" is probably all it would take. :)
