Date input locale issue #389

Some browser+platform combinations (notably Windows) don't obey the locale settings and display date format according to the browser locale's default format. This makes it next to impossible to use e.g. the Finnish date format on a system running Windows with English as the language.

Consider possibility to fall back to a JS-based solution at least optionally.

Not easy to do without affecting usability on e.g. mobile devices. Dropping for now.
