We can already define a different app to launch when pressing the time but
pressing the alarm extension will always launch the system clock.
This is especially odd since you can set alarms from different apps like
AlarmDroid and they will be recognized by DashClock but the shortcut will
always point to the system clock.

Definitely something I'd be interested in. I use Gentle Alarm and currently
have it set up to open when I tap on the clock. Unfortunately now I have two
actions that are the same, but I only use one of the alarm clocks.

100% agree, because the widget is able to detect the correct Next Alarm, even
it was set by 3-rd party app, but when you touch - it goes to the native
clock/alarms which is not the one you were using to set.
