Fixes #25 - Makes the UI more resilient when Moodle returns error messages (or no content at all) with the JSON response,
Fixes a few minor code styling issues, to avoid Moodle Code Checker flags.

Sorry for the title changes, but GitHub has a few "automated features", and I wanted to get it just right (avoid polluting the commit message in the code repo, because it becomes a constant pain for the eyes! :) ).
