How does it work? How to make it work?

How can i know if it is working?

You can share your screen via a browser or some other application.

Does it only work with pipewire?

Yes.

Can i still use it if i only have alsa?

You need PipeWire installed, but you don't need to use it for audio. Please look at the documentation of you distribution on how to install PipeWire without the audio part.

Which distribution are you using? You have to set XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=sway before starting sway. Please post a log of xdg-desktop-portal-wlr -r -l DEBUG.

Log so far looks fine, but it doesn't show any client trying to connect. You also have missed the additional informations I requested.
