I had the same problem last week.
I don't know why Opera can't manage kenburns in slideshow like others browser 
(firefox, chrome, IE) but I found a way Opera can accept:
It seems that all pictures must have the same size (heigth and width) than the 
slideshow: in this case the effect is OK. Obviously possibilities for this 
effect are reduced, so it's a choice: reduce kenburns effects and be OK with 
Opera, or not ?
