arch linux gnome 3.34, only other windows show through when transparency is decreased, instead of windows and background

same with POP! OS 19.10 gnome 3.34

This seems to be related to the issue in Mutter.

strangely glassygnome works as expected for konsole

Ubuntu 20.04 and background is not showing.
