Hi @emichaellab,

Please could you clarify what license this software is published under?

emichaellab commented 2 years ago

Hello,

We have not assigned/chosen any open source license for our software published on Github. We simply provided links to the code as required by journals. Looking at licenses, we should perhaps use the MIT license for Epifil. How do we do this?

Thanks.

Hi Edwin,

I asked Mike Irvine to add a license to TRANSFIL too - it's as easy as adding a LICENSE file with the appropriate text in. Here's an MIT license - you'd just replace the copyright line with Edwin Michael:

https://github.com/sempwn/LF-model/blob/master/LICENSE

It's good to return to LF - I don't know if you remember, but you supervised my Part II Zoology modeling project in LF in 1991/2.

Hi Simon,

I thought I recognized your name, but it has been years since Cambridge/Oxford. Are you with Github now? That's really interesting; hope you are doing well.

Ok, I have asked the modelling and computational science post-docs with me to work on this. They are very good and knowledgeable about this, and we should be able to add in the MIT license as advised.

Thanks for getting in touch, and very best.

Thanks Edwin! I actually work for Microsoft http://microsoft.com/premonition as well as LSHTM. We're currently working on an open source project to run epidemiological models in the cloud and help with model ensembles. LF is a great example where this has already been done.
