Conventional term appears with two different meanings in the Sign branch #162

Conventional is used in the Sign branch first to distinguish a Sign with respect to Icon and Index, and then lower in the hierarchy to distinguish between measured and unmeasured quantities.

The use of a synonym for the latter (e.g. standardized, common) should be considered.
