This seems like a necessary concept given our discussions. I think the EMMO experts will need to consider whether the representation of the nature of a sample is not already something that is available through the semiotic processes already available in EMMO, I have an intuition that it might be but don't feel comfortable enough to comment more concretely.
In the discussion with @CasperWA and @francescalb a few meetings back it made sense to us to define concepts like this in the crystallography ontology to be crystallography-specific, e.g., via: "... outcomes from crystallographic experiments" and then later they can be connect them to more generalized concepts outside the crystallography ontology.
Based on today's discussion where it was expressed "sample" should be a more direct reference to the physical entity being measured, I here propose adding a concept that takes the other role. The "discussion" section expands on some thoughts on the use of this concept.
