This example shows how you can define a new cite command in the .tex file, and specify which parts of the bib entry you want to print. I didn't test it, but imagine it should be easy enough to print just author, year, doi: https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/523438/biblatex-short-citation-style
Not as cool as having it all in the bib style file though!
Shortening an APA bibliography entry ad-hoc is not always a good idea. Perhaps a better idea would be to include digital object identifiers for everything that is cited. It would be good to have (or show an example of) a way to get DOIs. Perhaps first author, year, and DOI?
