Our IIIF server currently supports a limited range of image file types, but we have discovered its current configuration does not support JP2. Additionally, we can't currently render PDF files in the Universal Viewer.

If successful, implement changes to support these JP2 and PDF files

Status quo: JP2 images do not render when a user encounters them
Generate page-level images from PDF files and ingest them, simply for display purposes

Many users would benefit from being able to preview pages of a PDF (especially for upcoming work for OpenEmory)
Users who want to interact with material digitized as JP2 would also benefit from these rendering in IIIF viewers

Support for JPEG 2000 images was completed on 7/14/22. The PDF investigation will be moved to a separate request, because our current IIIF manifest building process excludes PDFs as image content.
